Candied Bacon
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top of it. In a shallow bowl, mix together the light brown sugar, ground black pepper, and maple syrup. Dip the bacon strips into the mixture, making sure both sides are covered with the sugar/syrup mix. Line the bacon on the wire rack. Bake 15-20 minutes until the brown sugar is melted and caramelized and the bacon fully cooked through. Remove the tray from the oven and allow the bacon to cool and firm up. Once cooled, cut into small pieces and set aside.

  1. Measure the cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a medium, microwavable bowl, combine the peanut butter, peanut butter chips, and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute and stir. Return the bowl to the microwave for another 30 seconds or so and stir until the mixture is completely smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted peanut butter mixture over the cereal and stir carefully with a wooden spoon until evenly coated. Carefully pour the cereal into a 2-gallon Ziploc bag (or two 1-gallon bags).
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and the powdered peanut butter. Add this mixture to the Ziploc bag(s) with the peanut butter coated cereal. Seal and shake until well coated. Spread onto wax paper and cool. Sprinkle broken banana chips and candied bacon pieces over the cereal mix. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
